John Hays Prayer Letter: Mighty Works of God in Africa and Asia

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This month we rejoice over the mighty works of God in both Africa and Asia. From the deserts of Pakistan to the heart of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Gospel is being proclaimed, lives are being transformed, and communities are gaining access to safe, clean drinking water.

Testimony from the DRCRevival and a New Church Planted

Greetings! As shared in our earlier communication, we witnessed an outpouring of God’s grace in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Every day for 6 days, over 100 people accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour during our daily programs. This mighty harvest was the result of preaching the Word of God alongside the Pure Water Ministry outreach.

By God’s grace, one more church was planted—a beacon of light and hope for the local community. Truly, your labor of love for Christ is not in vain.

Outreach Report: Pakistan Desert RegionsSouls Saved, Baptisms Celebrated, Churches Planted

By His abundant grace, our team safely returned from ministering in 10 remote desert villages. People traveled from 21 different communities to hear the Gospel. Over 4 days, we shared Christ with 320 people. While 3 villages resisted the message, we continue to pray for them. Praise God, 170 individuals professed Jesus Christ as their Saviour.

Baptism in a Pit Lined with Rose Petals

In one village without a baptismal facility, 36 new believers dug a simple pit in the earth. They lined it with rose petals before entering the water—a powerful image of resurrection: death transformed into life.

Pure Water Distribution

We provided 24 water-purification systems to families without access to safe drinking water, using each moment to share Jesus’ promise of “living water” (John 4:14). This practical act of love opened many hearts to the Gospel.

Five New Churches Established

In the wake of this outreach, five new congregations have been formed, serving as centers for worship, discipleship, and community ministry. Follow-up visits and leadership training are planned in the coming months.

Work in Pakistan

In Pakistan, 870 individuals recently received Christ—a powerful movement of faith in a region where the Gospel is rarely heard. Along with this life-changing decision, they were also trained to use the clean-water system, enabling them to bring safe, life-sustaining water to their villages. Through both physical and spiritual transformation, entire villages are now experiencing hope like never before.

From Sickness to Salvation—Mohammed’s Story

Mohammed, a businessman from Egypt, traveled to Liberia on a business trip when he unexpectedly became sick. In desperation, he found help in a local village, where one of our clean-water systems was being used. After drinking the clean water and recovering from his illness, Mohammed experienced more than just physical healing—he trusted Christ as his Saviour! Since then, he has not only embraced his new faith, but he has also committed to giving back and to providing water systems for other villages in need, so other lives could be changed, just like his was.

During this trip, 50 new believers publicly testified to their faith through baptism. Since there are no baptismal pools in these desert villages, we dug a large grave-like pit, filled it with water, and joyfully baptized the new believers in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The people were extremely excited to receive baptism, demonstrating their strong desire to follow Christ regardless of the hardships.

By the grace of God, we were also able to plant four new churches in these areas. These fellowships will serve as lighthouses for the Gospel, providing ongoing discipleship, worship, and outreach among the surrounding villages. Our hearts are burdened to continue reaching more lost tribes, and we are committed to expanding this work deeper into the desert regions where the name of Jesus has never been proclaimed before.Another critical need we addressed during this mission was the provision of clean drinking water. The natural water sources in these villages are heavily contaminated with chemicals, making them dangerous for human consumption. Thanks to the partnership with Pure Water Ministry, we provided Pure Water Systems in several villages. These systems are transforming lives by providing safe, clean drinking water.We thank God that we were able to first give them the “Water of Life” — the message of salvation through Jesus Christ — and afterward meet their physical need by providing water for their bodies to survive in these harsh places. This holistic-ministry approach is opening hearts even more to the Gospel.

We are incredibly grateful to Pure Water Ministry for their partnership and support. We kindly request the provision of more Pure Water Systems, as they are greatly needed and are making a significant difference in the lives of many families. These systems are not just improving health conditions; they are opening doors for the Gospel and changing lives forever in Pakistan. All glory and honor to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who makes all things possible!

PRAYERS NEEDED

We were able to send another 226 water systems to Rwanda, Uganda, and the DRC. Please pray that the Gospel will be well received.

I have fainted in the mission field. I look on the poor, and my prayers and my eyes are tear-filled as I look unto Jesus. This is my limited view of what God is doing in the Pure Water for All ministry.

God is doing amazing work!

In 2024, there were 1,933 villages in 22 countries that were given Living Water and drinking water: Morocco, Ghana, Liberia, Zambia, Guam, Philippines, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Kenya, DRC (Congo), Uganda, Bangladesh, Peru, Laos, South Sudan, Nepal, Malawi, Guatemala, and Panama. There were 20,000 salvations and over 250 church plants reported, along with hundreds of thousands of lives helped. Thank you for your prayer partnership! Please continue to pray for God to send more laborers into the harvest.

A large distribution of over 100 systems was made in DRC Congo in March 2025. This was 500 miles from the capital. It was dangerous. Christ was made known to a very far corner of the world. The fruits were great.

Praise God for a completed distribution! Pray for another large distribution of 400 systems in 2025. The labor of love in Christ has never been in vain.

Pakistan gets 20 systems monthly. March’s report shows many got saved. Praise God for 180 people who have trusted Christ in Pakistan!

Please pray for more to be saved in Ghana and Sierra Leone because we sent 150 more water systems to those countries in March.

Peru has more exciting news! More systems were sent, which adds to this testimony:

“We visited 8 villages. We also visited 1 hospital, 2 medical centers, 5 schools, and 1 market. We also provided systems to 3 pastors and 2 mayors (local political authorities). As a result, approximately 72 people received Christ as their personal Saviour; among them were 3 doctors and a nurse.” – Bro. Allan

I do not understand how I can give water to Jesus, the Creator, the invisible God. His Words says I can, so I take a step of faith. Testimonies share the unseen fruit.

South Sudan Update

One such testimony comes from deep inside the war-torn and newest country on earth, South Sudan. This is one of my favorite places—no ocean, stores, gas stations, hospitals, good water, or roads in this very hot, dusty, desert brushland. Mango trees, like lollipops, grow on the barren, distant mountains. A national, Samuel Muta, works with me. He has documentation of distributing both waters to millions of people in over 1,000 villages.

I asked Samuel to take me to the first village he served. As we crossed a small stream on the edge of “town,” a lady was shaking her finger at us as she filled her water container from that stream. I asked Samuel why. He said she was telling us that she was no longer afraid of sickness or death from drinking bad water because it was treated. We sat down in the village, and the person in charge of village water came out of her hut, bringing the Khlor-Gen system with her, and treated our river water. We sat down, and I was greatly taken back to see this unfold before my eyes. Throughout the day, people would stop us and give us good words of the work being done.

Life is simple, as it’s a new nation, yet it is unstable. On February 14, 2025, one more system was used to show the Gospel and treat water (see pictures). The testimony dated February 14 was:

• Attendance – 1,415• Salvations – 416• Baptisms – 3• Physical improvements

Democratic Republic of the Congo Update by Pastor Saidi

The lost world needs Christ. Yes, it needs the Gospel of grace, the love of God, the message of the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross, and water systems freely distributed to village groups. This remains a great way for us to help others while fulfilling the Great Commission. Sometimes we are terrified and discouraged. Our faith in Christ in obedience is always under trials.

After about five years of experience with the Pure Water Systems ministry, we have seen more than 8,000 souls receive Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Savior within cities and villages in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This includes surrounding countries, such as Zambia, Malawi, and Uganda, where we have reached out with the water-systems ministry.

Recently, just after our annual conference in November 2024, 2 more churches were planted under the blessings of water systems. Now we have 9 churches that have been planted, with the help of the water systems. Seven more churches were established; these 7 churches were already planted, but because of the help of the water systems, they have become much stronger in quantity and in fellowship with God.

So, 16 churches in general for now are beneficiaries of the water-systems ministry, and each church has more than 200 members. As an example, in my church today, we have more than 400 church members because of the help of the water-systems ministry.

If God opens a way, our next mission trip in February will be a soul-winning and church-planting mission trip to the western part of the country. We already have many expectations from God. Please help us realize this precious, divine mission and touch thousands of souls for Christ.

As the lost world needs Christ, in the same way, the fulfillment of the Great Commission needs the water systems to bring more souls to Christ and establish God’s kingdom in people’s lives. Christ is coming soon, and we have to work to prepare for His appearing as we fulfill His mission and purposes.

Pakistan 2024 Update by Pastor Shaukat Siddique

Last year, we visited 70 villages, and we were able to plant 40 new churches in different villages. By the grace of God, we witnessed in front of 3,000 people and saw 1,700 receive Jesus Christ.

We humbly gave Pure Water Systems (Khlor-Gens, I call them) to 1,933 villages in more than 24 countries during 2024. Praise the Lord! It’s all from obeying God’s Word—giving Jesus a drink of water.

Pray for the 600 villages receiving both the Gospel and the Khlor-Gen water-treatment systems in Congo, Ecuador, Pakistan, Ghana, Brazil, Nepal, and other countries. The battle is never ending, but God is in control.

In the photo on the right, we had just done a “chlorine and household hygiene” program that included some limited water-quality testing in one village. As you know, the amount of chlorine needed to dose water varies a little from well to well, and in any given well, seasonally too; but once you get the “rhythm” of it, you don’t need to test so often. After a program break, a LOT of folks brought water from their wells to test.

The program stirred up interest in a nearby village (see middle photo). The outcome of the regular presence of a Christian demonstrably attesting to God’s care for their health and giving testimony to the Lord Jesus, Who makes our spiritual hearts healthy when we apply the “treatment” of His sacrifice for our sins is seen in the top photo. Regular presence allows discipleship and discipleship allows evangelism. Together, they allow folks to become followers of Jesus who are then baptized, ultimately leading to church plants in village after village.

I don’t know if there’s a church in that second village yet, but there are at least two believers, and “For where two or three are gathered together in my name . . . .” While the time between the program and the baptisms was less than a month in this case, the pastor had been actively visiting, treating water, and discipling for some months before that. I think the program excitement and the Holy Spirit’s activity/flexibility just helped folks see God’s flexibility and care for them in THEIR circumstances. Nothing is too hard for him!

Hundreds of villages in these four continents—Africa, Asia, North America, and South America—are being reached with the Gospel, all since the last newsletter. There are too many testimonies to write about in this newsletter.

So far, God has sent Pure Water into over 1,500 villages in over 24 countries this calendar year. The Bible is taught. National pastors give the Gospel. New believers are baptized. Churches are started. People have improved health.

One testimony is from Pakistan, where their water was made safe to drink and the Gospel was given out in 20 rural villages. The joy of salvation and baptism in a new church can be seen by clicking on button below.

God has blessed us with 500 villages so far in 2024—that’s 2½ villages a day! They have their drinking water treated for decades to come, and they have had the Living Water preached to them. There are many testimonies to come. Many salvations are being reported, along with new church plants.

Work is performed by our teams, national pastors, and missionaries. This is ongoing in these 14 countries: Solomon Islands, Pakistan, Brazil, Peru, Kenya, Congo, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Nigeria, Zambia, Guam, Morocco, Philippines, and Ghana.

A Few Testimonies from Around the World

The first comes from Liberia. A man had typhoid, which is a waterborne disease. It is worse than having the flu and is often terminal. Hospitals have nothing to treat it. The man heard about the Pure Water treatment machine and went to the Baptist church in Saclepea, Nimba County, Liberia. He drank treated water and got healed. The pastor of the church presented the Gospel to him and his wife, and they both got saved. Currently, they both are members of the Baptist church and are serving in that church.

I wanted to relay another story about the impact your donations are making. There was a mountain village near Monterey, Mexico, whose source of water was very dirty, as you can see in the picture below. One of our team members was collecting water to purify it. The village not only got a treatment system, the Khlor Gen 3000 that should last for decades, they also got the Living Water of Jesus Christ, and many got saved.

This last testimony comes from the Ivory Coast. There was a young boy who was very ill. His belly was full of worms from the very water he was drinking. His father took him to the doctors. The doctors could not treat the boy and told him to return home because he had a big belly full of worms. We were able to provide the village with a water-purification system. The boy was able to receive pure drinking water and get well, and now he will have pure water for many years to come. He and his parents were able to hear the message of the Gospel as well.
